The Prince Albert Police Service had a steady weekend responding to 220 calls for service over the weekend and effecting 31 arrests. Fourteen of the 31 arrests were people being intoxicated in a public place. The top two calls for service over the weekend were disturbances (24) and intoxicated persons (19).

On March 16, 2019 just before 2:30 a.m. patrol members attended the area of 4th Avenue West and 22nd Street West for a complaint of an unknown male waving a machete around. On arrival officers located the suspect walking in the 300 Block of 22nd Street West. The suspect was arrested and upon searching the male, a large knife was located in his waistband.
A 25-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public and uttering a threat (Info # 991084530). The accused will make their first court appearance on April 10, 2019 in Prince Albert Provincial Court.
File # 2019-7218 / Robbery
On March 16, 2019 at 6:00 p.m., patrol members attended to the 600 Block of Marquis Road for a robbery that had just occurred. The victim advised police an unknown male approached her with their face concealed and threatened her if she did not give the male her beer. The victim gave the beer to the suspect who fled in a nearby-parked vehicle. The victim observed another male enter the vehicle with the suspect. The victim was not physically injured and no weapon was produced.
Patrol officers located the suspect vehicle a short time later parked, unoccupied at a multi dwelling residence in the 1400 Block of 28 Street East. Upon further investigation, officers located and arrested two males who matched the description of the suspects.
A 18-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with robbery, committing an indictable offence while having their face masked and breach of court order (Info # 991084611).
A 20-year-old male is charged with robbery and committing an indictable offence while having their face masked (Info # 991084612).
Both accused will make their first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
