On October 12, 2018 at.1:46 a.m. Prince Albert Police Service responded to a distress call on the 1500 Block of River Street.
The victim was leaving their residence and observed a suspect male attempting to rob his truck. When he confronted the suspect male wearing a bandana masking his face, the male withdrew a handgun, threatened the victim, and made the victim give him the money on his person and his cell phone.
The victim then managed to flee back into his residence and call police and the suspect left.
Patrol along with the K9 Unit searched the area. K9 Daxa with handler Constable Bighetty tracked the suspect to a backyard on the 1500 Block of River Street East and K9 with Patrol successfully arrested the suspect.
The 17-year-old male youth from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan is charged with using a firearm in a robbery, stealing personal property not exceeding $5,000, intent to commit an offense with his face masked.
The youth will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today (Information #991068269).
