The Prince Albert Police Service had a steady weekend, responding to 234 calls for service and making 46 arrests. Twenty-nine of the 46 arrests were made on individuals for being intoxicated in a public place. The top three calls for service were for intoxicated persons (39), disturbances (30) and eviction’s (17).
Suicidal Male
On May 3, 2019 just after 11:00 a.m., patrol members attended to the Diefenbaker Bridge for a male who was threatening to jump off the bridge. Officers quickly located the male who appeared to be in mental health distress. Northbound driving lanes were shut down for the male and officers safety. Officers took the 38-year-old male into custody under the Mental Health Act.
Evading Police
On May 3, 2019 at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers located a stolen truck in an alley in the 1000 Block of Branion Drive. When officers approached the truck, a male fled from the driver’s seat on foot. Police apprehended the male after a short foot pursuit.
A 25-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of ammunition dangerous to the public, resisting arrest and breach of court order (Info # 991089511). The accused will make his first court appearance today.
Possession of Methamphetamine
On May 6, 2019 just before 2:30 a.m., patrol officers conducted a traffic stop in the 400 Block of 8th Street East with a suspicious vehicle. After further investigation, officers arrested the lone male occupant for possession of methamphetamine. A total of 5.3 Grams of methamphetamine was seized along with drug paraphernalia.
A 38-year-old male from Humbolt is charged with possession of methamphetamine (Info # 991089632). The accused will make his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
