The Prince Albert Police Service responded to 337 calls for service over the weekend and arrested 67 people. The top two calls for service were for intoxicated persons (62) and disturbances (55).
File #2017-42655: Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle
On Saturday, December 16, 2017 at approximately 9:18 p.m. patrol officers were dispatched initially to 6th Avenue East and 21 Street on a call of a Motor Vehicle Accident that had hit a guard rail on the viaduct. When officers arrived the suspect vehicle had already fled.
The vehicle was found a short time later on the 500 Block 21 Street stuck in a snow bank. Officers interviewed the driver that appeared intoxicated. The suspect was brought back to the police station and breathalyzer tests were conducted which the suspect failed.
The suspect has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and failure to remain at the scene of a hit and run.
The 23-year-old suspect from Prince Albert has since been released and will make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday, January 22, 2018.
