Prince Albert Police Service had a busy weekend, responding to 233 calls for service between Friday evening and Monday morning with 32 arrests. The top three calls for service were for intoxicated persons, disturbances and evictions.

On March 25, 2018 at 6:07 p.m. Prince Albert Police Service was dispatched to 1500 Block 9 Avenue West on a report of an assault.
Police arrived on scene and interviewed the victim and several witnesses. The victim had been driving up West Hill and was being followed closely by a van that was driving aggressively and honking. The victim pulled his vehicle over in the parking lot of Parkland Hall to allow the vehicle to pass. The van followed him into a the parking lot and the male driver from the van approached the male victim and started striking him in the face.
A nearby bystander intervened with a shovel and the suspect fled.
The victim was transported to hospital by Parkland Ambulance as a precautionary measure.
Witnesses provided a license plate number and police tracked the suspect vehicle to a residence on 1500 12 Street West.
The suspect male was located at the residence and arrested by officers.
A 41-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with three assault related charges and will make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.

On March 25, 2018, shortly before 6:30 a.m., the Prince Albert Police Service Patrol Unit was dispatched to a theft-in-progress.
The complainant stated he woke up to his car alarm going off. When he looked outside there was a male in his vehicle. The victim of the theft approached the suspect. The suspect threatened the victim with a knife and then fled. The victim then followed the suspect on foot until police arrived and arrested the suspect on 100 Block 17 Street West.
Police found on the suspect sunglasses and a speaker that were stolen from the vehicle. The suspect admitted to disposing of the knife in an alley.
An 18-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with committing assault and stealing personal property (Info: 991045718). The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.

On March 24, 2018 shortly after 4 a.m. Prince Albert Police Service Patrol Unit responded to the area of 2700 Woodbridge Drive on a disturbance complaint.
A male was seen banging on residences doors, wearing a backpack. The suspect male was located on a bike on Woodbridge Avenue by officers and arrested. Police located several vehicles that had been rifled through by the suspect with items strewn about and evidence of attempted garage break-and-enters.
The bike the suspect was riding at the time of arrest was found to be stolen.
The 23-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with stealing a bike, committing mischief and two counts of break-and-enter (Info: 991045652).
The suspect faces charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
