Prince Albert Police Service is reporting a busy 24 hour period on Thursday March 29, 2018. Between Thursday morning and Friday morning patrol officers responded to 157 calls for service and arrested 32 people. 20 of the arrests were for people being intoxicated in a public place. The top two calls for service were for intoxicated persons (34) and disturbances (19).

File # 2018-8767 / Impaired Driving

On March 29, 2018 just after 6:00 p.m. patrol officers responded to the area of the Corner Stone Shopping Development for a possible impaired driver. Officers located the vehicle and pulled it over on 15 Street East. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported back to the police service to provide a sample of his breath.

The 31-year-old male from Prince Albert has been charged with impaired driving and exceeding .08. The accused will be released and will make his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on May 2, 2018 (Info # 991046332).

File # 2018-8794 / Assist Fire

On March 29, 2018 just after 8:30 p.m. patrol officers attended to a residence in the 800 Block of 15 Avenue East for a house fire. On arrival officers observed smoke coming from the residence and Prince Albert Fire Dept. on scene. It was determined that children playing with matches were the origin of the fire. There were no injuries as a result of the fire. Police are not investigating further as this incident is not considered criminal or suspicious.
