The Prince Albert Police Service responded to 257 calls for service over the weekend and arrested 50 people. The top two calls for service were for intoxicated persons (44) and disturbances (28).

On Saturday, December 2, 2017 shortly after 1 a.m. a patrol officer observed a suspected impaired driver, which drove through a stop sign and was driving erratically. A Traffic Safety Act stop was conducted on the 300 Block of 28 Street East.
A roadside Alcohol Screening Device (ASD) was conducted which the female driver failed. The suspect also failed breathalyzer tests conducted back at the police station, exceeding .08.
The 35-year-old female from Prince Albert is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and exceeding .08.
The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
File #2017-41059: MVA with injuries - Car vs. Tree
On Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 4:05 a.m. Prince Albert Police Service officers were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) on 5th Street East and 22nd Street East.
A van had crashed into a tree and a female occupant of the vehicle was found by the side of the road with injuries. Another female was in the passenger side of the vehicle which had crushed into the tree on impact and she was pinned in the vehicle. A male driver was also in the vehicle passed out at the wheel and was woken up by police. The driver was visibly intoxicated and was arrested by police.
Prince Albert Fire Department arrived on scene and extracted the female passenger out of the vehicle. Parkland Ambulance transported the two injured passengers to hospital. The driver was checked by ambulance at the scene and determined not to have injuries. The driver was taken by police to cells.
Breathalyzer tests were conducted at the police station which the driver failed.
The 23-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, three counts of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and one count of exceeding .08.
The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today (Info# 991033436).

At 11:12 p.m. on December 3, 2017 the Prince Albert Police Service Patrol Unit responded to a Reported Impaired Driver (RID) complaint at a business on 3600 Block 2nd Avenue West.
Officers arrived to find a truck running in the parking lot with the driver asleep at the wheel. Officers woke the male who appeared under the influence of a substance. The driver was arrested and a knife and a pill bottle containing pills was located on his person.
The 32 year old male from Domremy Saskatchewan is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of clonazepam, unlawful possession of hydromorphone and two counts of being at large of his undertaking (Information #991033547).
The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
File #2017-41135: Recovered Stolen Auto/CDSA
On Sunday, December 3, 2017 at approximately 10 p.m. officers located a vehicle which matched the description of a recent stolen vehicle which drove for a short distance then parked outside a residence on 1000 Block 1st Street East. A male driver and female passenger was arrested at scene. Both suspects were taken to cells. A small quantity of methamphetamine was found on the person of the female suspect. The vehicle has been returned to the owner by police.
A 40-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle exceeding $5,000 (Information #991033544).
A 38-year-old female is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle exceeding $5,000 and possession of methamphetamine (Information #991033543).
The suspects will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.

On Monday, December 4, 2017 the Prince Albert Police Service Patrol Unit was dispatched to an alley on the 300 Block 7 Street East for a suspicious incident complaint. A male was located in the alley wearing a mask and dark clothing and carrying a backpack. The male was questioned by officers and found to be in breach of an undertaking and was arrested. Officers retrieved the backpack which the suspect had thrown over a fence and located inside the backpack a 12 gauge shotgun.
The 31-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with seven firearms related offenses one breach of undertaking to stay at his residence from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and one breach of probation to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
