Weekend Update – Dec. 31, 2018

The Prince Albert Police Service had a steady weekend responding to 247 calls for service between Friday evening and Sunday morning with 44 arrests.  Top calls for service were intoxicated person calls (45) and disturbance calls (27).

File # 2018-4196 - Assault

On Friday, December 28, 2018 at 8:20 p.m. Prince Albert Police Service attended to an assault call at the Art Hauser Centre (600 Block of 32nd Street East). Security guards had attempted to evict an intoxicated male from the premise who spit on the guards.

The male was located hiding in a vehicle nearby and arrested (Information # 991076435).

The 35-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with committing two counts of assault.

The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.

File # 2018-41844 – Arrest of Male Unlawfully at Large

On Thursday December 27, 2018 at approximately 12:57 p.m., William Henderson, wanted on a Canada wide warrant for being unlawfully at large was located by officers in an alley on the 200 Block of 10 Street East carrying a black bag. The suspect entered into a white car and was followed by officers for a short distance before he was pulled over traveling north on 2nd Avenue East and blocked in by several police vehicles.

He attempted to escape by backing into a police vehicle and was preparing to ram the front vehicle. For officer safety, officers broke the glass on the driver’s side window with a baton and he was finally arrested. The female passenger was also arrested and charged. Officers located the black duffel bag in the vehicle which contained a .22 rifle, 29 rounds of ammunition and three shot gun shells.

The 31-year-old male from Saskatoon and a 24-year-old female from Prince Albert are charged with numerous firearms related charges. Henderson is also facing charges of assault of an officer and resisting arrest (Information # 991076304).

The suspects made their first court appearance last week.
