On December 31, 2018, Prince Albert Police Service patrol responded to 117 calls for service and there were 24 arrests. Below is a highlight of major calls.

File # 2018-42266 – Mischief complaint, man at large arrested

On December 31, 2018 at 8:33 p.m. the Patrol Unit responded to a disturbance call on the 1400 Block 28 Street East.

It was reported that someone had discharged a fire extinguisher in the hallway of the apartment building. An intoxicated male was located in the hallway with the fire extinguisher and arrested. It was also found he was on a Canada-wide warrant for escape of lawful custody and violating his probation order.

The 18-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with committing mischief (Information #991076640).

File # 2018-42258 – Assault

On December 31, 2018 at 5:39 p.m., Police were dispatched to a business on the 800 Block of 15 Street East. Security guards were in the parking lot with a male that was seen attempting to steal a vehicle. The male was arrested by police and brought to the police station where he actively resisted officers while being processed in cellblock and attempted to assault an officer. He was brought under control and safely lodged in cells.

A 34-year-old male from Saskatoon is charged with assault of a police officer and breach of a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behavior.

The suspect will appear before Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
