Prince Albert Police responded to 259 calls for service over the weekend. The majority of calls involved disturbances and intoxicated persons.
File 2020-23277 – CED Deployment
Police were called to the 900 Block of 2nd Street East just before midnight Sunday for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police located a 21-year-old man threatening to harm himself with a broken piece of glass.
Police attempted to disarm the man through communication but the man continued to cause self-harm. A Conductive Energy Device (CED) was deployed in order to prevent the man from the continuation of self-harm. The man was then safely taken into custody and escorted to a waiting ambulance to treat injuries related to self-harm.
File 2020-23026 – Break and Enter
A 27-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants and is facing additional charges of break and enter and obstructing a peace officer after members on routine patrol located property belonging to a business in the unit block of 13th Street East Saturday afternoon.
Police stopped a man pushing a wheeled cart up the hill along 6th Avenue East around 4:15 p.m. Saturday and located numerous items connected to a break in at the business earlier this month. [Information 991131806]
File 2020-23027 – Break and Enter in Progress
Police arrested a 35-year-old man after responding to a report of a break and enter in progress in the 200 Block of 16th Street West early Saturday morning.
Members responded to the area just before 3 a.m. after a witness reported seeing a man smash a window at the business. The suspect was located nearby and is charged with break and enter in relation to this incident. [Information 991131805]
