Prince Albert Police took one man into custody following a robbery with a firearm at a local business Tuesday evening.
At approximately 7:20 p.m., police were called to the 600 Block of Marquis Road for a robbery. A man had reportedly entered the business with a long-barrelled rifle and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and other items.
Members on B Platoon with the Prince Albert Police Service flooded the area, taking one suspect into custody just after 9 p.m. A firearm was located nearby.
Patrol members were assisted by members of the new Crime Suppression Team and the RCMP on this file. The Prince Albert Police Service Crime Suppression Team was announced earlier this month and is focused on combatting violent gun and gang activity and related property crime.
A 31-year-old man is charged with robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm, breach of court-ordered release conditions and breach of undertaking in connection with this incident. [Information 991143209]
