At approximately 3:20 a.m. on August 5, 2021, the Prince Albert Police Service and Parkland Ambulance responded to a business in the 3600 Block of 2nd Avenue West for a report of an assault.

A 40-year-old female was taken to the Victoria Hospital with serious injuries. She was assessed and then later transported to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.

On Saturday, August 7, the 40-year-old female was declared deceased by medical staff. Her death is being treated as suspicious and an autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.

The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and Forensics Identification Section of the Prince Albert Police Service continue to investigate.
