Patrol officers had a busy weekend responding to 363 calls for service between Friday night and Monday morning. Officers made 89 arrests. The top two calls for service were intoxicated persons (97) and disturbances (56).
File # 2018-31017 - Stolen Vehicle Recovered
On September 20, 2018 at 9:40 a.m., Prince Albert Police Service officers located a stolen vehicle driving on 4th Avenue and 28 Street.
Police had received a call 30 minutes earlier from residents on the 500 Block of 11 Street East that their van was stolen – which the police had now located.
The stolen van was pulled over in a nearby parking lot. The male driver and female passenger were arrested. A baggie of methamphetamine containing .6 grams was located in the vehicle.
A 28-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with possession of stolen property exceeding $5,000 (motor vehicle), possession of methamphetamine, two counts of operating a motor vehicle while disqualified and breach of probation order to keep the peace and be of good behavior (Information # 991065972).
A 28-year-old female from Prince Albert is charged with possession of methamphetamine (Information # 991065971).
Both suspect made their first court appearance on September 21, 2018.
File # 2018-31607 – Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle
On September 24, 2018 at 2:37 a.m., Prince Albert Police Service Patrol located a suspected impaired driver and conducted a vehicle stop on the 1000 Block of 15 Street East. The driver had signs of intoxication and was arrested. Breathalyzer tests were conducted which the male suspect failed.
The 19-year-old male from Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding .08.
The suspect has since been released and will make his first court appearance October 22, 2018.
File 2018- 31584 – Firearms Charges
On September 23, 2018 on the Unit Block of 28 Street East around 2 p.m., Prince Albert Police Service located a male suspect in a parked van passed out in the vehicle with a firearm in the passenger seat.
Police broke the passenger side window and seized the sawed off shotgun and promptly arrested the male.
The 19-year-old from Little Red River First Nation is charged with seven firearms related charges.
The suspect will make his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
