The Prince Albert Police Service is advising the public that three more members have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The police service was notified of the positive tests over the weekend and on Monday.
The Prince Albert Police Service wishes each member well as they rest at home.
The police service takes the health and safety of all members and staff seriously, and is continuing with enhanced cleaning procedures and masking requirements where distancing of at least two metres cannot be guaranteed. Both the main station and the police substation underwent additional cleaning and disinfecting over the weekend following the confirmation of a first positive case late last week, and further cleaning is planned to ensure both locations are properly sanitized.
Front-line staffing levels have been adjusted to accommodate for members who are away and ensure adequate resources on shift at all times.
The safety of the public remains a priority and all efforts will be made to adhere to public safety guidelines while attending calls for service. That includes screening questions for possible COVID exposure and wearing masks and gloves when in close contact with members of the public as much as possible.
The front offices at both police locations are temporarily closed to the public until further notice. A phone and buzzer outside the police main station is still available to members of the public who wish to speak with an officer.
Services such as criminal records checks and reporting of incidents including property theft, mischief or frauds, will be handled over the phone where appropriate. The public is reminded that these incidents can also be reported online at www.papolice.ca
For general police-related inquiries, members of the public should call the non-emergent line at 306-953-4222.
