The Prince Albert Police Service responded to 219 calls for service over the weekend and arrested 37 people. The top two calls for service were for disturbances (28) and intoxicated persons (21).
File # 2018-4672 - Auto Theft
On February 18, 2018 at approximately 3:25 a.m. Prince Albert Police Service patrol members attended to a report of a motor vehicle theft. The vehicle was located on the 300 Block of 12 Street West and fled from the attending police vehicles.
Patrol located a short time later the vehicle traveling southbound on 5th Street East and set up a containment of the vehicle. The vehicle attempted to evade officers again and veered into a snow bank on the side of the road becoming stuck.
The suspect was arrested by officers without further incident.
The 15-year-old male youth from Prince Albert is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle while attempting to evade officers, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and breach of a youth order sentence (Information # 991041661).
The youth will make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
File # 2018-4764 - Break and Enter
On February 19, 2018 at 3:06 a.m. Prince Albert Police Service received a call to assist RCMP in apprehending a break-and-enter suspect. The suspect was located driving in Prince Albert by patrol members on 15 Street West and pulled over and arrested. The suspect had committed a break-and-enter of a business shop compound on the Block of 1100 Avenue North West approximately 2 hours prior. The 57-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with break-and-enter.
The suspect has since been released and will make their first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on March 1, 2018 (Information # 991041714).
