Weekend Update - April 2, 2018

Prince Albert Police Service is reporting a steady weekend responding to 173 calls for service between Friday night and Monday morning. The top two calls for service were for intoxicated persons (24) and disturbances (20).

On March 30, 2018 at 8:40 p.m., patrol officers pulled a vehicle over in the 1100 Block of River Street West for a Traffic Safety Act Investigation. The van pulled over to the side of the road and a male driver ran from the vehicle into a residence. The lone patrol officer approached the van and dealt with a female sitting in the front passenger seat.   The female was arrested for breaching court ordered conditions. After searching the female, the officer located 3.4 Grams of suspected methamphetamine. The female also identified the male driver who fled on foot from the van.

Additional officers arrived on scene and approached the residence that the driver entered when running from the van. Officers located the male hiding inside the residence and confirmed that he did not have permission to be in. The male was arrested for break and enter.

A 24-year-old female from Prince Albert has been charged with possession of methamphetamine and breach of court order (Info # 991046373).

A 30-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with break and entering and breach of court order (Info # 991046371).

Both accused will make their first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Tuesday April 3, 2018.

Police charged four people with impaired driving in four separate incidents over the weekend.

On March 30, 2018 just before 10:00 p.m. while on routine patrol, officers pulled over a vehicle in the 1200 Block of 2^nd Avenue West for a Traffic Safety Act investigation. Officers arrested the male driver for impaired driving. The driver was transported back to the police service to give samples of his breath.

A 20-year-old male from Shellbrook is charged with impaired driving and exceeding .08 (Info # 991046377).  The accused will make their first court appearance on May 1, 2018.

File # 2018-8982

On March 31, 2018 at 9:30p.m. Patrol Officers responded to the intersection of 15 Street East and 15 Avenue East for a motor vehicle accident. Officer’s approached the male driver, operating the vehicle responsible for the accident. Officer’s arrested the driver for impaired driving as he failed a road side screening device test. The accused was transported to the police service to give samples of his breath.

A 65-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with impaired driving and exceeding .08 (Info # 991046453). The accused will make their first court appearance on May 1, 2018.

There were no injuries to anyone as a result of the accident.

File # 2018-8996

On April 1, 2018 just after 4:00 a.m. while on routine patrol, officers observed a vehicle driving in the 1300 Block of 22^nd Street East at a high rate of speed with no lights on. Officers pulled the vehicle over and the male driver was arrested for impaired driving. The driver was transported back to the police service to provide samples of their breath.

A 23-year-old male from Southend is charged with impaired driving, exceeding .08 and operating a motor vehicle in a manner that is dangerous to the public (Info # 991046463). The accused will make his first court appearance on April 19, 2018.

File # 2018-9016

On April 1, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. police observed a van driving at a high rate of speed in the 600 Block of 28 street East. The van was pulled over and the driver was arrested for impaired driving. The driver was transported back to the police service to provide samples of their breath.

A 39-year-old from Prince Albert is charged with impaired driving, exceeding .08 and breach of court order (Info # 991046496). The accused will make their first court appearance on May 1, 2018.
