Police Service Dog Jeb assisted police apprehend a suspect who produced a machete and fled on foot last night.
On April 22, 2019 at 9:00 p.m., patrol officers along with the K9 Unit attended to the area of the 300 Block of 10th Street East for a disturbance. Police were advised of a male who was jumping on parked cars and yelling at passersby. On arrival, a lone K9 officer located a male in the area. Police confirmed the male had outstanding warrants. The suspect produced a machete while talking to the officer and then fled on foot, dropping the machete. Police pursued the suspect on foot and with the help of PSD Jeb located the male a short distance away. A further search of the suspect revealed he was also in possession of bear spray.
A 24-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public x2, carrying a concealed weapon x2, resisting arrest and breach of court order (Info # 991088186). The accused will appear in Provincial Court today.
