Media Release - Weekend Update January 28, 2020

Members of the Prince Albert Police Service responded to 223 calls for service over the weekend. The majority of calls involved intoxicated persons and disturbances.

File 2020-2888 – Assault with a Weapon

A 20-year-old man is facing five counts of assault with a weapon and one charge of mischief stemming from an incident in the 2800 Block of Sixth Ave. E. Monday afternoon. Police were dispatched to the area around 2:25 p.m. for a complaint that several people had been sprayed with bear mace.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene. [Information 991119399]

File 2020-2859 – Assault with a Weapon

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 20-year-old man charged in connection with an incident Monday morning in the 700 Block of Fourth St. E. Police were dispatched to the area just before 8 a.m. for a complaint that a man had attacked another man with a hammer and an axe.

The suspect and victim are known to each other.

File 2020-2761 – Aggravated Assault

Police have charged a 33-year-old woman with aggravated assault and breach of court order in relation to an incident Saturday night. Police were called to the 200 Block of 12^th St. E. around 11:30 p.m. Saturday for a complaint that a woman had been stabbed.

A 24-year-old woman was transported to hospital by Parkland Ambulance for further care and treatment.

A 33-year-old woman was arrested at the scene [Information 991119402]. The suspect and victim are known to each other.
