The Prince Albert Police Service had two incidents of impaired drivers last night.
File # 17-38382 Impaired Driver vs. Light Standard
On Thursday, November 2, 2017 at approximately 11:31 p.m. Prince Albert Police Service officers were dispatched to the intersection of 28 Street West for a Motor Vehicle Accident vs. Light Standard.
A car was parked on the centre of the meridan and the light standard was knocked over.
The driver was standing on the side of the road and appeared uninjured. When questioned by officers they determined the female driver was intoxicated and arrested her.
The suspect was brought back to cells. Breathalyzer tests were conducted which the suspect failed.
The 40-year-old female from Prince Albert has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding .08. The suspect has since been released to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court December 4, 2017.
File # 17-38383 RID/Refusal
Prince Albert Police Service Officers at 11:33 p.m. on Thursday November 2, 2017 were dispatched to the intersection of 4 Street East and 15 Avenue East on a Reported Impaired Driver (RID) complaint.
The suspect vehicle had narrowly avoided hitting another vehicle and crashed into a curb.
Upon arrival the vehicle was damaged and being towed. Drivers of both vehicles were questioned and it was determined that the suspect vehicle driver was impaired as he had appearances of intoxication and was arrested. The suspect was brought to the police vehicle and officers attempted to conducted an Assisted Screening Device roadside test to determine impairment (ASD). The suspect refused to comply with requests and is charged with refusal to provide a breath sample.
The 22-year-old suspect from Prince Albert was released from police custody and will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on December 5, 2017.
