Four people have been charged with multiple drug and weapon related offences after an investigation by the Prince Albert Integrated Street Enforcement Team (ISET). On July 11, 2018 officers from Prince Albert Police Service Patrol Unit and Rosthern RCMP Det. assisted members of the ISET Unit in an investigation. An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Coroner has confirmed the manner of death to be homicide in the case of recently deceased 28-year-old male Tyrell Bird. Bird was shot on June 28th, 2018 in the alley of the 200 block 9th St East around 9 pm and later died in a Saskatoon hospital. This is the first homicide of 2018 in Prince Albert. 349 people were caught in driving violations during a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P) blitz which was held last Thursday and Friday. Tickets issued included: 125 speeding tickets, 24 cell phone tickets, 49 seatbelt tickets, 22 Vehicle Equipment Regulations (vehicle didn't meet standards), 10 unregistered vehicle tickets, 5 no license tickets etc. In total 249 tickets were issued and 100 additional warnings were given. Police are looking for a driver who fled from a stolen van after it was involved in an accident Wednesday afternoon. On July 4, 2018 just before 4:30 p.m. police responded to 5th Avenue East and 10th Street East for a motor vehicle accident. On arrival police spoke with witnesses who advised a van was travelling North on 5th Ave East and proceeded through a stop sign and struck a vehicle going west bound on 10th St East.
