Patrol officers had a steady weekend responding to 295 calls for service between Friday night and Monday morning. Officers made 54 arrests, 44 arrests were made on people for being intoxicated in a public place. The top three calls for service were intoxicated persons (44), disturbances (35) and evictions (16). On September 7, 2018 at 12:52 p.m. patrol officers responded to a weapons complaint in the 2800 Block of 6 Avenue East. Police took multiple calls about an incident involving bear mace. On arrival police spoke with a 14-year-old male victim who had been bear maced. The victim was treated at scene by Parkland Ambulance and then transported to his residence. An arrest warrant has been issued for 32 year old Tyrone Nontell for Second Degree Murder in relation to the homicide of Tyrell Bird. (Info #991062987) Bird was shot on June 28th in an alley of the 200 block 9th Street East. He remained in hospital on life support until July 2nd when he succumbed to his injuries. Three people are in custody after police attended to a family dispute Wednesday evening. At approximately 8:00 p.m., September 5, 2018 police attended to a residence in the 200 Block of 25 Street West for a complaint of a family dispute in the backyard of their residence.
