Weekend Update – September 10, 2018

Patrol officers had a steady weekend responding to 295 calls for service between Friday night and Monday morning. Officers made 54 arrests, 44 arrests were made on people for being intoxicated in a public place. The top three calls for service were intoxicated persons (44), disturbances (35) and evictions (16).

File 18-29523 – Aggravated Assault

Between the hours of 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on September 8, 2018 a male suspect committed assault on multiple victims and was arrested by the Prince Albert Police Service.

At approximately 2:17 a.m. Police were first called out to a disturbance involving the male suspect in a physical altercation in front of a business at 200 Block 15 Street West with another male. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

At 2:33 a.m. Patrol was called out to an establishment on 1300 Block 2nd Avenue West. A male suspect struck an unconscious male in the head and fled prior to police arrival. The male victim was transported to hospital.

At 2:43 a.m. PAPS was dispatched to 900 Block 1 Avenue West for a call of a male on the street who was physically kicked by a male suspect and robbed of his guitar and alcohol. The description provided matched the suspect of the two previous incidents.

Patrol located the male suspect nearby on bike and was apprehended on 12 Street and 1st Avenue. The suspect was carrying a backpack that contained the alleged stolen alcohol.

The 18-year old male from Prince Albert is charged with aggravated assault, stealing personal property using violence and breach of a youth sentence order to follow curfew, keep peace, and be of good behavior.

The suspect will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court to answer to charges today (Information #991064524).
