Prince Albert Police members responded to 296 calls for service between Friday evening and Monday morning. The majority of calls for service involved disturbances and intoxicated persons.
File 2019-38668 – Weapons/Mischief
Police responded to a complaint of suspicious activity in the 300 Block of 24th St. E. early Monday morning after a resident reported a suspicious person in his neighbour’s vehicle. Upon arrival, police observed a male matching the description of the suspect running eastbound on 24th Street. The suspect was arrested after a short foot pursuit. Upon further investigation, police located a .22 calibre handgun and a long, bladed knife on the man’s person. A mask was located on the ground nearby.
A 30-year-old man is facing weapons-related charges in connection with this file. [Information 991111846]
File 2019-38465 – Break and Enter
Police are asking for the public’s help in locating two distinct bicycles reported stolen Saturday morning. Residents reported the theft of a grey and teal-coloured 2018 Specialized Rockhopper bike, along with a grey and green 2019 Trek Marlin 6 WSD.
A photo of the missing bikes is attached. Police are asking anyone with information about the thefts to call 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
File 2019-38389 – Weapons Complaint
Police were called to the 200 Block of Ninth St. E. Friday evening for a weapons complaint. Police responded to the area just before 7 p.m., and located a male matching the description of the suspect walking nearby. Upon further investigation, police located two large machetes on the man’s person, along with 4.5 grams of methamphetamine, two digital scales, a sawed-off gun barrel, three shotgun shells, and break-in tools including, bolt cutters and a metal file.
A 23-year-old man is facing several charges including, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous weapons, and carrying a concealed weapon in relation to this incident. [Information 991111733]
