Police File 2020-11249
UPDATE – Following the completion of an autopsy conducted Tuesday, investigators with the Prince Albert Police Service have determined that the death of a three-year-old girl on April 9, 2020 was a result of a homicide.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Police can confirm that the victim and suspects were known to each other. Investigators do not believe this to be a random incident and do not believe there is a risk to public safety.
Members from the Prince Albert Police Service Criminal Investigations Division, Forensic Identification Section and office of the Chief Coroner continue to investigate.

On Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at 8 p.m., members of the Prince Albert Police Service were called to a residence in the 800 Block of 17th Street West to assist Parkland Ambulance with a call involving a person in cardiac arrest.
Upon investigation, it was found that a three-year-old female was unresponsive and that life-saving efforts were being made by members of Parkland Ambulance while en route to the Victoria Hospital. The female child was later transferred to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon.
This afternoon, the three-year-old child was declared deceased by medical staff at the Children’s Hospital.
An autopsy is expected to occur in the next week to determine the child’s cause and manner of death. Further information will be provided once an autopsy has been completed.
