Media Release - Weekend Update May 17, 2021

Prince Albert Police officers responded to 322 calls for service over the weekend and made 59 arrests.

File 2021-17112 - UPDATE

Prince Albert Police were notified Sunday evening that the man seen entering the North Saskatchewan River earlier in the day had passed away. A witness reported seeing the man enter the river at approximately 7 a.m. Sunday.

The Prince Albert Police Service extends condolences to family and friends of the deceased.

File 2021-17132 – Point a Firearm

Police were dispatched to a weapons complaint in the 800 Block of 13th Street West late Sunday morning after a man reported another male had threatened him with a firearm. Police located a man matching a description of the suspect in the nearby area.

Officers also located an air soft/BB gun in a garbage can in the vicinity.

A 37-year-old man is charged with use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, uttering threats and breach of court conditions. [Information 991161091]
