Media Release – Weekend Update February 1, 2021

Prince Albert Police responded to 184 calls for service over the weekend. The majority of calls involved disturbances and evictions.

File 2021-4011 – Weapons Complaint

Members are investigating an incident at a residence in the 100 Block of 11th Street West in which a man was threatened by a male with a gun. Just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday, the resident reported a window at his residence was damaged. As he attempted to fix the window, a male approached and threatened him with a rifle.

The suspect is described as being in his early 30s and approximately 5’7” tall with a mole near his left eye. He was reportedly wearing a black toque, black bunnyhug, blue jeans, and dirty white shoes.

File 2021-3994 – Aggravated Assault

Police are investigating an aggravated assault late Saturday night involving a 31-year-old woman who had been dropped off at the Victoria Hospital with severe injuries. The woman was later transferred to hospital in Saskatoon for further treatment. This file remains under investigation.

File 2021-3989 – Weapons Complaint

Police responded to a weapons complaint in the 1700 Block of 12th Avenue West around 10:20 p.m. Saturday. A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds

His injuries are not life threatening.

File 2021-3324 – Damage to Police Property

On Monday, January 25 at approximately 9:25 p.m., an officer was responding to a report of a motor vehicle collision and slid off the icy road and into a concrete barrier at a business in the 200 block of 17th Street West.

Damages to the police vehicle are still being assessed. The officer suffered minor injuries.
