Media Release – Weekend Update December 1, 2020

Prince Albert Police officers responded to 231 calls for service over the weekend. The majority of calls involved requests for evictions from property and disturbances. Police made 36 arrests.

File 2020-44608 – Break and Enter in Progress

A 29-year-old man has been charged with break and enter and possession of break-in tools after police responded to a break and enter in progress at a business in the 1000 Block of Central Avenue over the weekend.

Police were called to the business at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. A man was seen exiting the store and heading eastbound. Police Service Dog (PSD) Kal was deployed and located a suspect a few blocks away. Police recovered cash and other items from the business. [Information 991147214]

File 2020-44602 – Break and Enter in Progress

Two youths are facing charges following a break and enter at a business in the 1300 Block of Central Avenue early Sunday morning. Just after 12:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the business and located two male youths.

Two males, age 16 and 17, are charged with break and enter in relation to this incident. [Information 991147218]

 

File 2020-44537 – Wilful Damage

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the persons responsible for damaging several bus shelters within the city recently. Anyone with information about the identity of the suspects or the vehicle shown in the attached photo is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

 

File 2020-44419 – Aggravated Assault

Police have charged a 39-year-old man after a woman was taken to hospital Friday evening with serious head injuries. Police responded to a residence in the 100 Block of 8th Street East for a report of an aggravated assault.

The man and woman are known to each other. [Information 991147182]

File 2020-44356 – Theft of Police Vehicle

A 34-year-old woman has been charged with theft after a police vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of the police service around 7:30 a.m. Friday. The stolen police vehicle was located a few minutes later near 32nd Street and 1st Avenue West after colliding with a snow bank. Damage to the police vehicle was minimal and included some minor damage to a light on the front bumper. No one was injured.
