Media Release – Weekend Update April 19, 2021

Prince Albert Police members responded to 307 calls for service over the weekend, including several reports of property theft, and break and enter to sheds and garages.

In a number of cases, the vehicles or outbuildings were left unlocked overnight. The police service would like to remind the public to keep all valuables out of site and properly secured.

File 2021-13025 – Robbery

Police responded to a report of a robbery Saturday evening in the area around the 1600 Block of 6th Avenue East. Two teenage males reported they were walking near the railroad tracks in the area when they were approached by a man and a woman. The man then reportedly threatened them with a knife before fleeing with a bag containing snack foods.

No one was injured and police continue to investigate.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man described as being 5’6” tall with a black hat, blue mask, black shirt, black jogging pants, and a tattoo on his right forearm.  He was wearing numerous silver and gold chains around his neck.

The woman is described as being 5’4” tall wearing a black bunnyhug and short hair that has been bleached. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

File 2021-12952 – Break and Enter in Progress

Prince Albert Police officers responded to a report of a break and enter in progress over the weekend to a fenced compound outside a business in the Unit Block of 17th Street West.

Police were called to the area at approximately 7:15 a.m. Saturday for a report that a man was inside the compound. Officers responded quickly and located a man nearby matching the witness description of the suspect. A 26-year-old man is facing charges of break and enter and breach of court-ordered probation.
