Members with the Prince Albert Police Service’s Crime Reduction Team (CRT) have arrested two individuals on outstanding warrants, and charged one man with numerous additional firearms-related offences following an investigation this week.
On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, CRT members located a man wanted on several outstanding warrants from Prince Albert, Southend, and Alberta, including a charge of attempted murder relating to an incident in Prince Albert on December 27, 2022 (File 2022-47993). The suspect was arrested at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the 2800 Block of Dunn Drive following a short foot pursuit.
Upon further investigation, police located a live round of ammunition and a loaded .22 calibre rifle.
Germaine Michel, age 31, is facing numerous additional firearms-related charges, and charges of resisting a peace officer x 2, and breach of a court-ordered probation order. Michel, from Prince Albert, appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Thursday. [Information 991227353]
Brianne Fineday, age 29, was arrested at the scene on outstanding warrants from Nipawin and Deschambeault Lake. Fineday, from Deschambeault Lake, is further charged with breach of a court-ordered release order in relation to this investigation. [991227356]
The Prince Albert Police Service’s Crime Reduction Team is one of several teams funded by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Corrections, Policing, and Public Safety and has seven police members and one civilian analyst working to proactively investigate street gangs, with a focus on illicit drug trafficking and possession of illegal firearms.
