Prince Albert Police were dispatched to a multi-unit residence in the 300 Block of 32nd Street West shortly before 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon for a report of a disturbance. One woman was arrested at the scene for attempting to block residents from entering, damaging the building and trying to turn off the building’s heating system.

The woman was uncooperative and assaultive, at the Prince Albert Police Service’s detention area she produced a needle, removed the cap and threatened police. Police attempted to disarm the woman through communication without success and eventually deployed pepper spray, and then a Conductive Energy Weapon (CEW).

The woman continued to be combative and was able to grab a police baton while in the police detention area, and struck a metal fingerprint machine several times. Police deployed pepper spray a second time and the woman was then safely taken into custody and placed inside a detention cell.

No one was injured in this incident.

The woman is facing four charges of assaulting a police officer and one charge of wilful damage in connection with this file. [Information 9911537357]
