Prince Albert Police have charged one man in connection with two recent armed robberies in the city.

In the early morning hours of November 9, police were called to a business in the 2600 Block of Second Ave. W. for a report of a robbery in progress (File 19-37780). While en route, officers located a white Tundra truck driving at a high rate of speed. The description of the truck matched the description of a vehicle recently reported stolen.

The driver of the truck refused to stop for police and a criminal pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended after the driver drove onto a small pond and attempted to flee. A 31-year-old man was arrested and is facing various Criminal Code charges including, pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, robbery, possession of stolen property, and dangerous operation of a vehicle in relation to this incident. The same accused is also facing charges relating to an armed robbery just before 11 p.m. on November 3 in the 400 Block of 15th St. E. (File 19-37116). Two people reportedly stole cigarettes, lottery tickets and an undisclosed amount of cash. The 31-year-old male suspect is charged with robbery with a firearm, wearing a face mask with intent to commit an indictable offence and breach of court order in connection with this incident.
