Firearm charges – 2018-34653
On October 19, 2018, shortly after 8 p.m. a vehicle stop was conducted by the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) in the city of Prince Albert on the 300 block of 28th Street East.
During the vehicle stop a sawed firearm and ammunition was seized. Two male suspects were arrested from the vehicle and charged.
A search warrant was executed to search the suspects’ residence at approximately 11:50 p.m. in the 1000 block of Branion Drive. Evidence to support the offence of possession of firearms was located at the residence.
A 29-year-old male from Montreal Lake is charged with seven firearms offenses and obstruction of a peace officer engaged in duty (Information #991069116).
A 23-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with nine firearm related charges and a breach of his recognizance to not possess weapons.
Both suspects will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
The Saskatchewan Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) is a province wide integrated policing task force formed to investigate existing and emerging organized criminal groups. Saskatchewan CFSEU has units located in Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert with a common mandate to target criminal organizations operating within the participating agencies jurisdiction and surrounding areas and to disrupt and dismantle criminal organizations.
