One male is in custody after Patrol officers responded to a break and enter early Wednesday morning.
On September 5, 2018 just after 4:00 a.m. patrol officers responded to break and enter that had just occurred to a residence in the 700 Block of 13 Street West. The complainant told police that they had awoke to an unknown male in their residence and holding the complainants purse. The complainant attempted to get their purse back and the suspect fled.
Officers and the K9 unit immediately attended to the area. On arrival officers observed the suspect inside the complainant’s vehicle and fled from police on foot. Police Service Dog Daxa assisted police locate the suspect who was arrested in a yard of a residence in the 1400 Block of 6th Avenue West.
A 30-year-old male from Ahtahkakoop is charged with break and enter, assault, possession of a break in instrument, obstruction, attempted theft of a motor vehicle and breach of court order (Info # 991064269). The accused will make his first court appearance today.
