The Prince Albert Police Service responded to 240 calls for service over the weekend and arrested 44 people. The top two calls for service were for disturbances and intoxicated persons.
File # 2017-39725: Impaired
On November 19, 2017 at 11:06 a.m. officers located a Reported Impaired Driver (RID) driving a white truck traveling westbound on 22nd Street East. The vehicle was followed at a distance and the vehicle entered the intersection of 12 Street and 2nd Avenue going through a red light. Patrol unit activated emergency lights and sirens and proceeded to pull over the vehicle on Highway 55 shortly after the bridge.
The driver was arrested and vehicle towed. The suspect was brought back to cells and a breathalyzer test conducted which he failed.
The suspect is facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding .08. The 26-year-old male from Prince Albert has been released and will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court at a later date.
File # 2017-39758: Impaired
On November 18, 2017 at 4:36 p.m. officers were dispatched to 1400 4 Street East on a Reported Impaired Driver (RID). The complainant stated that he was driving when a vehicle backed out of a residence and hit his rear fender. The suspected impaired vehicle then took off leaving the scene.
The suspected RID vehicle was located by officers a short time later on the 300 Block of River Street and patrol engaged their emergency lights and sirens pulling over the vehicle.
The female suspect had appearances of intoxication and the vehicle had signs of damage. She was brought back to cells and refused to provide breathalyzer samples to officers.
The 26-year-old female from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and failure to provide a breath sample.
The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court on December 17, 2017.
