Weekend Update – April 9, 2018

Prince Albert Police Service had a busy weekend, responding to 234 calls for service between Friday evening and Monday morning with 39 arrests. The top three calls for service were for intoxicated persons, disturbances and evictions.

File # 2018 - 9773: Trafficking methamphetamine

On April 8, 2018 at 9:15 p.m. Prince Albert Police Service Patrol Unit was dispatched to a hotel on 600 Block Marquis Road on report of a theft of credit cards.

Two males and one female suspect were arrested in a hotel room.

The suspects were located with dozens of stolen credit cards and identification cards, cell phones, drug paraphernalia, 5.7 grams of methamphetamine  and 1.6 grams of cocaine.

A 40-year-old male and a 38-year-old female from Prince Albert and a 34-year-old male from Fort McMurray Saskatchewan are charged with the following:

Possession of methamphetamine, trafficking cocaine, two counts of fraud, and four counts of possession of property obtained by crime (Information # 991047251).

The suspects answered to charges Monday, April 9, 2018 at Prince Albert Provincial Court.

File # 2018 - 9745: Impaired by Drugs

On April 8, 2018 at 1:29 p.m. Prince Albert Police Service was dispatched to 2nd Avenue West and 12 Street West on complaint of a two vehicle Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) with a suspected impaired driver.

When officers arrived they found two damaged vehicles and one driver that was visibly impaired. The male driver was arrested and brought back to cells.

The 31-year-old male suspect from Prince Albert is charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug. He has since been released and will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on May 3, 2018.

File 2018 - 9517: Weapon

Prince Albert Police Service responded to a hotel room at 3600 2nd Avenue West on April 6, 2018 on a weapons complaint shortly before 11 a.m. A hotel employee had discovered a sawed off shotgun in the hotel room. When police officers attended they located the shotgun in the hotel room and arrested the male on scene.

A 32-year-old male from Montreal Lake, Saskatchewan is charged with six firearms related charges. The suspect answered to charges on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Prince Albert Provincial Court (Information # 991047098).
