Weekend Update – April 8, 2019

The Prince Albert Police Service had a very busy weekend responding to 310 calls for service between Friday night and Monday morning.

Alcohol related calls continued to be the source of problems as patrol members made 36 arrests over the weekend. Twenty-three of the 36 arrests were made on people for being intoxicated in a public place. The top two calls for service were for intoxicated persons (44) and disturbances (42).

On April 6, 2019 at 8:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to an attempt break and enter to a residence in the 500 Block of 13 Street East. The complainant told police that an unknown male entered his yard, tried his back door and fled on foot.

Patrol members flooded the area as well as Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment Canine Officer in an attempt to locate the suspect. Canine located a suspect matching the description given by the complaint a half a block away from the complainant’s residence. The suspect was arrested without incident.

A 32-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with trespassing at night and breach of court order (Info # 991086607). The accused will make their first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
