Stabbing – February 7, 2018

On Tuesday, February 6, 2018 around 11 a.m. the Prince Albert Police Service attended to a call of a victim that was stabbed outside the commercial district of 2800 Block 2nd Avenue West.

Officers located the male victim on the sidewalk with several stab wounds in the back. The suspect and victim knew each other and had an argument which escalated to the suspect stabbing the victim then fleeing.

The victim was transported to hospital with major injuries.

Officers set up a containment of the surrounding area searching for the suspect. The suspect was located on 500 Block 28 Street West and arrested by officers.

The 31-year-old male from Little Red First Nation, Saskatchewan is charged with aggravated assault (Information #991040349).

The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
