"After two weeks of online criminal record checks being available to residents there service has already been well used," said Prince Albert Police Service Office Manager Josie Hemsworth."
In the first two weeks we have received 12 online criminal record check applications, said Hemsworth.
"We weren't sure how many we would receive the first year – this has already surpassed our expectations," she added.
To fill out a criminal record check online residents can visit www.papolice.ca and click on the link for "Criminal Record Check."
From there they can decide whether to apply online or in person. To apply online a resident must be 21 years of age and will need internet access.
A handy new instructional video is also now up on the online criminal record check page, which takes residents step-by-step through the process.
For in-person application, the forms are still available on the website to download and fill in prior to attending to the front office of the Prince Albert Police Service. The office is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and cash is required to cover the criminal record check fees.
For online applications –all major credit and debit cards are accepted.
The fees to apply for a criminal record check are $35 for a regular Criminal Record Check and $70 fee for Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector. A $9.95 processing fee applies to all online applications.
*Note for both Online and In-Person you must be a resident of Prince Albert. If you are applying from outside of the city you must have your criminal record check processed by the RCMP in your jurisdiction.
