File # 2018 - 18138: Recovery of Stolen Vehicle
On June 13, 2018 at 1:11 a.m. the Prince Albert Police Service was dispatched to the 400 Block of 22nd Street East regarding a theft of motor vehicle that had just occurred.
The stolen van was located by officers at a nearby cemetery, in which the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
A containment of the cemetery was set up by patrol officers and track initiated by Police Service Dog (PSD) Daxa and dog handler Constable Bighetty and the male suspect was successfully arrested.
The 33-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with committing theft of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public, being at large of his recognizance, breach of undertaking and breach of probation order.
The male suspect will make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
