Recovered Stolen Vehicle

At 1:40 a.m. April 24, 2018, a Patrol Unit officer observed a stolen truck with no taillights on travelling southbound on 6 Avenue East.

The truck was followed for a distance and officers activated emergency lights as the vehicle turned northbound on Sherman Drive. The vehicle did not yield and was followed for a distance by patrol until it accelerated at high speeds and the pursuit was immediately terminated around Branion Drive due to concern for public safety. A short time later the vehicle was located by Patrol behind 2200 1st Avenue.

The K9 Unit was deployed but the suspect was not located.

The stolen vehicle is in police custody and investigation is underway.
