Recovered Stolen Auto - August 28, 2018

A 26-year-old male from Prince Albert is in custody after being caught driving a stolen vehicle this morning.

On August 28, 2018 just after 3:30 a.m. while on routine patrol an officer observed a red van travelling North on 1^st Avenue East. The officer confirmed that the van had been reported stolen on August 26, 2018. The officer attempted a traffic stop on the stolen van and the male driver fled from police. Police pursued the stolen van for several blocks before the van came to a stop in the 400 Block of 14^th Avenue East.

The male driver fled from the stolen van. After a short foot pursuit officers caught and arrested the suspect.

The accused is now charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, evading police, operating a vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public and resisting arrest. The accused will make his first court appearance today (Info # 991063363).
