The Prince Albert Police Service is reporting that property crime is trending upwards in the community and has initiated targeted patrols to address recent occurrences. Today, the Canadian Center for Justice Statistics (Stats Canada) released the 2018 Crime Statistics and the Crime Severity Index (CSI) values for Canada. The crime statistics and CSI are formulated to compare the severity of crime and violent crime in roughly 300 communities with populations over 10,000 for 2018. The first of two groups participating in the annual Prince Albert River Runners program set off on their canoe trek Monday morning. A total of 21 local youths are participating in this year’s trips along the North Saskatchewan River. Another group is scheduled to take to the water July 29. File 2019-22637 Four people are facing charges following an investigation by the Integrated Street Enforcement Team (ISET). Police executed search warrants at several addresses in the city Wednesday, locating cell phones, a loaded handgun, scales, ammunition and various quantities of marijuana, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
