Prince Albert Police have charged a third person in connection with a shooting in the city last October in which a 31-year-old man was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.

At approximately 6:20 p.m. on October 4, 2020, police responded to a report of gunshots near the intersection of 28th Street and 6th Avenue East. The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle.

Patrol members located the suspect vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed before it collided with a fence near the area of 15th Avenue and 4th Street East. Police arrested an 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man nearby. Both were charged with attempted murder and numerous weapons-related offences. [Information 991141696]

The Integrated Crime Reduction Team (ICRT) became involved in this investigation as this incident was believed to be gang related. The Prince Albert ICRT is an enhanced investigative unit which investigates gang violence.

After further investigation, a third suspect was identified.

On January 26, 2021, police arrested 22-year-old Keistin Blake DESCHAMBAULT at a residence in Prince Albert. He is charged with attempted murder, pointing a firearm, intentional discharge of a firearm, and numerous other offences as a result of this police investigation. [Information 991152301]

Police are not seeking any further suspects in connection with this incident.

The victim in this incident has since been released from hospital.
