Media Release – Weekend Update November 3, 2020

Members of the Prince Albert Police Service conducted numerous high-visibility neighbourhood patrols throughout the community over the weekend. Police responded to 322 calls for service between Friday evening and Monday morning, the majority of which involved disturbances, intoxicated persons and evictions.

File 2020-41654 – Aggravated Assault

Police were called to the 600 Block of Marquis Road for a report of a stabbing Monday evening. At approximately 8 p.m., police were dispatched for a report of a man threatening another man with a knife.

Police arrived quickly and took a 37-year-old man into custody. He is charged with aggravated assault. [Information 991144481]. A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

File 2020-41594 – Possession of a Dangerous Weapon

Charges are pending against two men who tried to flee from members of the Prince Albert Police Crime Suppression Team and Police Service Dog (PSD) Febee Monday morning. A police investigation in the 2800 Block of 2nd Avenue West led to the seizure of open alcohol and a machete at approximately 10:30 a.m.

One man is facing charges of possession of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon, while the other is facing charges of breach of court conditions.

File 2020-41445 – Wilful Damage

Police arrested a 41-year-old woman following a report of wilful damage to a building in the area around Central Avenue and 11th Street East early Sunday morning. Police were called to the area around 1:20 a.m. for a report that a woman had broken several windows.

Police arrested the suspect at the scene. She is charged with mischief and breach of probation. [Information 991144328]

File 2020-41270 – Break and Enter in progress

Members of the Prince Albert Police Crime Suppression Team arrested two men inside the fenced compound of a business in the 100 Block of 13th Street East late Friday. Just before midnight, members on patrol noted footprints in the snow leading inside the compound and located two men inside.

A 32-year-old man and a 40-year-old man were arrested without incident. They have been charged with break and enter with intent. The 40-year-old suspect is also facing a charge of breach of probation in relation to this file. [Information 991144260]
