Media Release – Weekend Update May 4, 2021

Prince Albert Police members have responded to 498 calls for service since Friday and made 76 arrests.

File 2021-15365 – Assault with a Weapon

Officers were dispatched to a business in the 3700 Block of 2nd Avenue West Monday afternoon for a report that a woman had threatened staff with a knife. The incident happened just after 4 p.m. after store staff confronted the woman for attempting to leave the store without paying for several items in her possession.

The 43-year-old woman is charged with assault with a weapon and theft under $5,000. [Information 991159891]

File 2021-15298 – Wilful Damage

Police are investigating reports that several vehicles were damaged at a property in the 500 Block of 18th Street West sometime over the weekend. Windows were damaged in five vehicles that had been parked on the property.

Officers continue to investigate.

File 2021-15280 – Break and Enter in Progress

Police were dispatched to a business in the 200 Block of 15th Street East late Sunday night for a report of a break and enter in progress.

Police arrived quickly and located a 42-year-old man inside the compound. He is charged with break and enter, and breach of court-ordered probation in relation to this file. [Information 991159793]

File 2021-14852 – Assault Police Officer

Early Friday morning, members on patrol located a vehicle matching the description of a stolen vehicle at a business in the 200 Block of 15th Street West.

Officers initiated a traffic stop at approximately 5:40 a.m. Friday. The female driver of the vehicle then proceeded to drive directly into the police car, before putting the vehicle into reverse and hitting another police cruiser. No police officers were injured as a result of this incident.

Officers took the occupants of the vehicle into custody at the scene and have charged a 19-year-old woman with two counts of assaulting a police officer, one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

A 36-year-old man is charged with breach of probation in relation to this file. [991159651]
