Media Release - Weekend Update May 19, 2020

Prince Albert Police responded to 334 calls for service over the Victoria Day Long Weekend. The majority of calls involved disturbances and intoxicated persons.

File 2020-17125 – Weapons Complaint

A 19-year-old man is facing various weapons-related charges following an incident in the 700 Block of River Street East Monday afternoon. Police were dispatched to the area for a report of a male with a gun.

Upon arrival, police located a black BB gun and a can of bear spray. Charges against the man include possession of a dangerous weapon, unauthorized possession of a weapon and use of an imitation firearm. [Information 991128466]

File 2020-17034 – Assault with a Weapon

Police are investigating an assault that happened in the 300 Block of 8^th Street East Sunday evening. A resident was bear sprayed during an altercation with three people.

The incident happened just before 10 p.m. Sunday. Police continue to investigate.

2020-16916 – Robbery

Police are investigating a report of a robbery Saturday evening in the 100 Block of 8^th Street East. A food delivery driver reported he was robbed and sprayed with bear spray while delivering food.

The incident happened at approximately 10 p.m. Police are investigating.
