2022-10208 – Weapons Complaint

Police responded to a report of a weapons complaint Tuesday morning after a man reported he had been threatened by another man with a knife. Officers located the suspect in the Unit Block of 14th Street East and he was arrested at the scene. Dwayne Whitefish, age 42, is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon in relation to this incident. [Information 991191344]

2022-10039 – Aggravated Assault

Officers were dispatched just after midnight Monday morning for a report of an assault with a machete. A 53-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries to his head and hands following a reported assault at a residence in the 100 Block of 11th Street West. A 16-year-old youth is charged with aggravated assault and further charges are pending. [Information 991191296]

File 2022-9980 – Robbery with Firearms

At approximately 2 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the 200 Block of 15th Street West in connection with a report of a robbery. The complainant reported a vehicle being stolen by two occupants with a gun.

The occupants attempted to flee but were located in the area around 6th Avenue and 28th Street West soon after. Brittany Elderkin, age 27, from Southend, is facing charges including robbery with a firearm and dangerous driving in relation to this incident. An arrest warrant has also been issued for a 31-year-old man. [Information 991191169]

File 2022-9884 – Weapons Complaint

Police were dispatched to the 200 Block of 10th Street East just after 4 p.m. Saturday for a report of a man who had been shot. Upon arrival, patrol located a man with a gun shot wound to his leg. He was transported to hospital by Parkland Ambulance in stable condition. Police continue to investigate this incident. File 2022-9780 – Assault with a Weapon

A 17-year-old youth is facing charges of assault with weapon and breach of court order following an incident in the 2600 Block of Central Avenue early Saturday morning. Just after midnight, a woman reported she was approached by someone who threatened her with a knife and bear spray, and physically assaulted her. He then fled the area. Upon arrival, officers located a man matching a description of the suspect at a nearby residence and he was arrested at the scene. [Information 991191172]
