Media Release - Third Arrest in Homicide

UPDATE – On February 23, 2023, members with the Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested 25-year-old Keyano Ahenakew from the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation in connection with the First Degree Murder of Jeremy Starblanket.

Keyano Ahenakew made his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court Friday morning. [Information 90480254]

This is the third person charged in connection to the homicide of Jeremy Starblanket. On February 22, 2023 Henry Ratt was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. [Information 90480253]

On July 29, 2021 Loretta Sakebow [Information 991167222] was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.

The Prince Albert Police Service responded to the 500 Block of 5^th Street East on March 20, 2021 for a report of an explosion and house fire. The fire was extinguished and a deceased person was located inside the residence, who was identified as Jeremy Starblanket.

Members with the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team assisted with this investigation.

The Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate.
