Prince Albert Police have charged two people following a motor vehicle accident in the city Wednesday afternoon that resulted in the seizure of a large amount of cocaine and cash.

A 22-year-old man from Prince Albert and a 22-year-old woman from La Ronge are both facing charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of the proceeds of crime and failure to stop at the scene of an accident after members on patrol were called to the area around 24th Street and 4th Avenue West for a report of a collision. Two vehicles were reported to have collided at the intersection just after 4:30 p.m. and witnesses reported two people had fled the scene from one of the vehicles.

Upon further investigation, police located more than 125 grams of cocaine, a functioning digital scale and drug paraphernalia and just over $8,900 in Canadian currency. [Joint Information 991169974]
