Two people are facing drug and weapons-related charges following an investigation by the Prince Albert Police Service’s Integrated Crime Reduction Team (ICRT) last week.

Just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, members conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 Block of 28th Street East. Upon further investigation, members located 38.5 grams of methamphetamine, an air soft handgun, cell phones and $550 in cash.

Acting on a search warrant, ICRT members then searched a nearby residence, locating just over 360 grams of methamphetamine, more than 14 grams of crack cocaine, and drug packaging materials. More than $1,700 in cash was also located, along with counterfeit currency and cheques.

During the course of the investigation, officers seized more than 400 grams of methamphetamine and more than 14 grams of crack cocaine in total. More than $2,300 in cash was also seized by police.

A 25-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man are charged jointly in relation to this investigation with charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of the proceeds of crime and possession of forged documents.
